Our Approach to Healing

Research shows that a key foundation for success in therapy is the establishment of an authentic and trusting professional relationship between client and therapist. We offer therapy with warm, genuine, & empathic BIPOC clinicians, that are trained in evidence based practices and value client relationships. We also value the wealth of expertise each person holds about their life & incorporate a collaborative approach to identifying & addressing therapy goals. Your therapist will strive to help you engage in honest reflection, empathically challenge harmful thinking, and offer you an objective perspective. Your therapist will also provide you with meaningful interpersonal feedback to foster insight & self-understanding regarding the internal & external factors that keep you stuck in unhealthy patterns. If you could use support on your healing journey, we would love to help!

2. Is therapy right for me?

Many of us have been conditioned to equate strength with a lack of emotional vulnerability. Consider, for instance, how many times you may have heard someone referred to as “strong” because they “held it together” and were not seen crying after a loss. This “strength” has helped many of us survive in a lot of ways, but this same survival instinct can keep us trapped. Trapped in our pain, suffering in silence. Trapped surviving life, rather than truly fully living. True mental & emotional healing requires us to break this cycle of bear minimal survival. Therapy can fuel your pursuit of a full, healthy, balanced life rooted in authenticity.

3. What is emdr?

EMDR is an evidence-based form of therapy that originated as a trauma treatment but has been proven effective in addressing a number of other presenting therapy concerns. Learn more about EMDR by visiting the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA)

4. Why bipoc?

We use the term BIPOC to refer to Black & Indigenous People of Color and we unapologetically center the healing of BIPOC communities. To learn more about why this is necessary visit the BIPOC Project.

5. DO YOU offer a sliding scale?

We offer a limited number of reduced fee sessions. These sessions are typically reserved for current client's experiencing extreme financial hardship. Learn more about low cost services here.

6.  Where are you located?
